    Hair transplant: Explain the treatment and surgery of hair transplant step-by-step?

    Hair transplant is one of the most common surgical procedure. You have to get the treatment if you are facing the problem of excessive hair fall and balding.     Hair transplant procedure

    • Correct diagnosis and planning

    The first thing is to examine the cause of hair loss. There are different reasons that you might be facing hair loss. Some of the reasons are stress, change in lifestyle, or medication. The doctor will examine the pattern of your hair loss and to see what type of treatment you need. Once the reason is found the surgeon will make an outline of the patients hairline to see where the hair grafts need to be placed. If you are taking any type of medication then the doctor might warn you to not take the medicines.     • Surgery

    The surgery is performed with 2 methods FUE and FUT. In FUE, the hair follicles are taken individually from the back of the scalp and then they are placed on the affected area. This does not leave any scar on the scalp. Whereas in another method, a strip of hair is taken from the back of the scalp where hair growth is maximum and then the strip is placed on the affected area. The FUT leaves the scar on the scalp. During the surgery, grafts are required and the surgeon will examine it first that how much is required. The whole surgery takes at least four hours and the rest depends on the case of the patient.

    • Risk

    After the surgery, the patient feels pain and swelling for a few weeks. This is very normal, you need to apply the medicine which your doctor recommend you. Apart from this in some cases, the patient might have infection or bleeding. If it continues then, you should consult the surgeon.

    • After-care

    Once the surgery is done, you have to take proper care as your doctor suggest you. Don’t apply any type of product on the hairs that contain any type of harsh chemical. Apply only those products which your surgeon recommend you. You can apply ice on the scalp to get rid of the swelling. Eat a balanced diet which contains all the right amount of nutrients.

    • Cost

    One of the important factors is cost. The cost of the surgery depends on where you are getting the treatment, doctor’s experience, how much hairs are affected, and how many grafts are required, during the surgery.
