Hair Transplant: Explain how the procedure of hair transplantation works?

Dr. VJs Cosmetic Surgery & Hair Transplantation Centre: One of the most common issues which most of us experience is hair loss. We find various treatment options to treat the problem effectively. With medications, hair growth is not possible but it helps to slow down the process of hair loss.

How does the method of hair transplant work?

Once you visit the doctor, they will diagnose the problem which means they will check the hair loss pattern or how much baldness is there. According to your problem, the doctor will let you know how many grafts you need.

    Choosing the right surgeon

First of all, keep in mind to choose the right surgeon for getting the surgery as their experience and expertise will matter a lot. Choosing an experienced surgeon means they will evaluate the problem properly and they have already handled so many cases which will naturally make a lot of difference. If you are planning to get a Hair Transplant in Visakhapatnam then you should seek help from our surgeon as they are well-known for giving the best treatment.

     Graft requirement

Graft requirement is the most essential part. Grafts are needed to be transplanted where hair growth is very less. It is also essential that the donor area should have enough number of hair which can be transplanted to the recipient area. In most cases around 3000 grafts are required. If the problem is severe then graft requirement will increase.

    Methods of hair transplant

Well, there are two methods in which hair follicles will be transplanted which are FUE and FUT. Before the procedure starts, the patient is given anesthesia so that they do not feel any type of pain or discomfort throughout the treatment.

In FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction) the follicles are taken individually from the donor area and then they are transplanted where hair growth is very less. The process of taking the hair and then putting it on the bald area is hair grafting. The reason to take the hair follicles from the back of the scalp is that the hair is present there in excess. After the surgery, it does not leave any scar on the scalp.

In FUT (Follicular Unit Transplantation) the strip of hair is taken from the back of the scalp and then it is transplanted where growth is very less. Once the transplantation is done it leaves a linear scar which is noticeable.

However, whichever method you choose or doctor advice you the results are permanent and hair growth is natural which means they match to your existing hair as hair are taken from your own scalp.

This depends on patient to patient. On average it takes around 4 to 8 hours to perform the surgery.

If you are facing the issue of hair loss then make sure you seek the help of the doctor as early as possible.
