What is a Hair Transplant?

Stages of hair regrowth after a hair transplant
The First Telogen
This phase is the last phase of the normal hair growth cycle but after hair transplant, this phase becomes the first phase of the hair regrowth cycle. In this phase, you will notice that your hair starts to shed or falling. In addition, this is the stage which lasts up to two weeks in an ordinary hair growth cycle. But after the hair transplant, you may experience this stage for up to 4 months. This happens only in some cases where your hair needs to grow properly. This is only applicable for people who have some health conditions.
Anagen phase
The Anagen phase is the first phase of hair growth. In this phase, you will notice that your hair start growing and your surgeon also examine you during this stage whether you need more hair grafts or not. Moreover, the growth rates are different for everyone which depends on post care and lifestyle habits. People who are suffering from any health condition may experience growth of their hair little late than a normal person. And this is the stage which lasts for 2-6 months but hair growth depends on health conditions and other factors.
Catagen phase
This is the phase in which your hair stops growing and this stage only lasts for 2 weeks. This is basically the second stage of the hair growth cycle in which your hair essentially stop growing. In addition, in this stage, you may experience any hair loss but depends on your care and diet. Some people experience excessive hair and some only face little hair loss. After this, the telogen phase again starts in the hair growth cycle.
The Second Telogen
This is a phase which lasts up to 4 months but depends on the hair follicles. Also depends on the factor of how rapidly your hair follicle work. Additionally, in this phase, you may notice some hair fall, but no need to worry because it is not going to be noticeable by anyone nor not even by you. Some people experience that in this phase old hair falls out and new hair begins to grow. You must get detail of all these stages from your surgeon prior to surgery so that you can notice all the changes in your hair growth cycle.
