What is a Chemical Peel?
It is the cosmetic procedure in which chemical solution is applied to the skin that can exfoliate and peel off those results into the regenerated skin is smoother and less wrinkled than the existing skin.
There Are Following Types of Chemical Peels
Superficial or Lunchtime Peel
In this type of chemical peel alpha – hydroxy acid or other mild acid is used to penetrate the outer skin to exfoliate it gently. It is used to improve the improve the skin discoloration and rough skin to rejuvenate face, neck, chest and hands
Medium Peel
This peel is used to treat the out and middle layer of skin so that damaged skin cells can be removed. For this type of peel glycolic or trichloroacetic acid is applied to penetrate the layers of skin. It is ideal solution to improve aging spots, fine skin to remove damaged skin cells. It can also be applied to treat precancerous skin growths such as actinic keratosis.
Deep Peel
This type of peel is done by applying tricholoacetic acid or phenol to deeply penetrate the middle layer of the skin for removing the damaged cells. Patients with the moderate lines, age spots, freckles and shallow scars can go for this treatment. This procedure is only performed once on the face

- patients having infections, active skin diseases, cuts or broken skin
- nursing or pregnant women
- if patient had taken the accutane in last six months
- patient have psoriasis, eczema, dermatitis or rosacea
Are Chemical Peels Painful?
Chemical peels is not the painful procedure as the gentlest peels agent like alpha- hydroxy, glycolic, lactic and the fruit acids are applied. These gentle peels are not painful but can cause stinging, redness, irritation and crusting but some creams and gels can reduce these effects but must be used as per prescription of specialist.
After Care and Recovery
